Now retired from clinical work after 35 years in the NHS in England and Scotland. Most recently as Professional Advisor for Psychology, NHS Lothian.
Honorary Professor at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh and visiting lecturer. Interests include professional practice, health and clinical psychology, well-being and happiness and public engagement with psychology.
A Past President of the British Psychological Society (BPS), having also served as Chair of the BPS Division of Clinical Psychology and Chair of the BPS Professional Practice Board.
Retired in 2019 as Honorary Treasurer of the BPS and a member of the Board of Trustees.
